'Tis the Season

I want to start off with saying that there are only 68 days left until Christmas.

I was curious after Elle asked the other day about the festival of lights in Chicago, so I looked it up. It's on November 17 and it looks like so much fun. Here's the link: http://www.themagnificentmile.com/events/lights-festival/

I know so many people's moods go way down during the winter because of the cold weather. But I am one of those who absolutely loves this change in weather. I love the snow, I love the warm clothing, I love hot chocolate! I, also, am probably the most joyful person during Christmas time. It brings back so many good memories from when I was younger, and the holiday season makes me SO happy for like 3 months straight. It's probably my favorite time of the year without a doubt. With that said, I just heard a Christmas song play on my iPod...I'm sorry, but it's never to early for me :)

Are any of you thinking about going to that festival of lights?

Relay Kickoff!

Fall break was amazing. It was a much needed break, but now it's back to reality.

Within the week, we are kicking off our Relay For Life marketing. We really want to make this year's event memorable and successful. With a lower amount of money raised last year, I'm hoping that this year makes up for it.

Bradley's Relay is going to be March 1, 2013. It is a bit earlier than normal, we decided to switch it up so that it does not interfere with finals, projects, and greek life formals. Last year, our numbers were way down due to the event being on the same night as most of the formals, so the result was hardly any greek like participation. That HAS to change this year! They make up such a large part of the Bradley Community, and we need their help to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The theme of the event is going to be Olympics. Now, I don't want to give away the new ideas we have to push the theme, there will always be the annual Miss Relay pageant (where guys dress as girls and raise money from the crowd). It is one of our most successful fundraisers.

This Friday, at the Bradley Homecoming Bonfire, we are going to have a table set up to tell you how you can get involved in this year's Relay. We are going to have "Bra Pong" set up for students to play as well. Make sure to stop by if you go to the bonfire!

 Bra Pong

If you guys are in any organizations, or just want to be involved with a group of friends, please let me know and we can get you signed up! It's going to be so fun, and it would be amazing if we could raise a large amount of money and be super successful my senior year! Let me know!

Fall Break-- Woooo!

I literally cannot contain my excitement for fall break this year! It has been the longest, busiest semester so far, and home is just the medicine I need.

Once I get home, I am going to go to the apple orchard! I must say, it is my favorite one I have ever been to, but I could be biased. I finally have time to get a haircut this weekend which I've been waiting for forever! Then on Sunday, we're heading out to Chicago for the rest of the break.

We have a place downtown because my parents are moving soon, so I cannot wait to shop! Shopping therapy, along with being home is the best. I am also going to be visiting some grad schools, and meeting with counselors to make sure I am on track with things as far as applying goes.

I'm still going back and forth again with grad school or working. I want to go to grad school because I am still in school mood, and I love school and I want to get in as much as I can while I'm still young. In response to that though, my boss from home has expressed that she wants to hire me when I graduate, yet she said "but I encourage you to go to grad school while you are still young." I'm hoping to work it out where maybe I can do both, and maybe do one or the other part time. Decisions, Decisions!

Hope everyone forgets about their stresses over fall break and has a fantastic time!

Countdown to fall break...

This week has been absolutely crazy with tests and projects. And I am counting down the days till fall break next week to see my family!

At the same time, how is it already time for midterms?? Where is this semester/year going??
As much as I am excited about graduation in May, I am not excited to not see everyone's familiar faces everyday.

I am so thankful for the memories of the last 3 years and can't wait to see what these next 8 months bring.

What's your favorite college memory so far?

Senior Project Begins

I apologize in advance for this week's boring post. Senior Project has officially begun and in full swing, so my time has been limited. I could not be happier with how my group turned out...I know we are going to work great together so that already eases any stress in that area.

What is interesting to me is that it seems as if marketing majors have 2 senior marketing projects. THe one in bma 452 and then the marketing capstone course. Our client wants us to prepare a marketing campaign and market research. This is totally fine for me, but it is interesting that these are not more generalized so that everyone's area of expertise needs to be used. Thank goodness I've saved every single marketing project that I've worked on to give my group mates ideas on how to do some of these things. Many of them have not had to take a research class such as MTG 341.

Overall, I'll admit that I'm glad the project is in my comfort zone and am extremely excited to see what ideas and recommendations my group and I can come up with!

On a different note...GO Bears!

Coffee anyone?!

So I feel like it's taking me longer than usual this year to get in the swing of things like studying and organizing my schedule. I find it impossible to get any work done at my apartment when I used to always do my major studying alone in my room. So I've been spending majority of my time at coffee shops...and I've been more productive than I have been in a long time.

I started just going to Starbucks over in campus town, but there is hardly any space at all in there. Then i tried going to Barnes & Noble, but there is literally ONE outlet in the entire sitting area...really??

My friend introduced me to Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. It's only about 5 minutes away from campus down Main St. It's the cutest coffee shop. Plenty of seating and outlets everywhere so its perfect for studying. Lots of coffee choices to allow me to be motivated to study (because nothing gets done without a yummy caffeinated drink).  Have any of you been there and what are your thoughts?? Do you have suggestions on places to go study outside of campus??
